We went to San Diego last Wednesday thru Saturday and had a great time with Kathy and Jeff on the boat, and saw Owen, Megan and baby Bennett at night.

The weather was beautiful and the marina was fun with a nice swimming pool and spa too. Here's Kathy and Jeff just before putting the boat in the water. This was Jeff's first time sailing.

On our first day out, a little navy boat came speeding up to us to tell us to clear out of the main channel because a destroyer was going to be passing by. It was exciting to see it so close. It was fun taking this little vacation!

On Saturday, the Ceilihouse Band performed at the U of R for their Multicultural Day.

I think we have played there for the past 15 years and this is the first time that we played late in the afternoon. The sky was dark with clouds, the wind was picking up and it was cold, in fact I actually wore my long underwear and had a hand warmer !

After playing for about 7 minutes we felt sprinkles on us and I could see the water landing on my fiddle as I played. Because we were playing for some little dancers, we couldn't just stop in the middle. SO, after fininshing the tune, we put our instruments away and went into a nearby building and finished our set.

I was so happy to be able to spend a few days with Megan, Owen and Bennett!!

Babies grow up so quickly and while I was there I tried to take pictures in between holding him myself! (which I never will get tired of!)

He likes his swing and this is out of focus because it was moving and playing nice lullabies.

I really think he's smiling at Mommy.

Yesterday, we were able to go to San Diego and see our cute little grandson, Bennett, aged..

4 DAYS!It was so fun to hold him and watch his cute little expressions.

Owen and Megan do just a terrific job of taking care of him.

Bennett is a lucky little person to come into such a loving family!!

He really mostly sleeps and eats so we were fortunate to catch him at a content moment being awake...

it's a little tricky at times getting him to burp.

Ahhh...

Do you think he looks like me??

I'm sure there will be a change in him every time we see him. This is the last time he will be 4 days old. I'm so glad we were there to see it!
