Kathy and Jeff...Wedding Day at the Temple
May 1, 2010
The Wedding Day!!
Words can hardly explain how beautiful and special the sealing was. Dad and I feel extremely blessed to be able to have all our children and spouses in attendance. Thank you for living your lives in such a way to enable all of us to be together for this once in a life time event. The sealing was done by Jeff's grandfather and it was SO special. What a GREAT experience.

A VICTORIOUS DAY!!
WARNING...The pictures you are about to see are of a deadly nature and may be offensive, so take caution in viewing.

This morning I woke up and as usual looked out my bedroom window to see if our destructive gopher was up yet. He was not and I was hoping maybe he was gone or dead from the drowning I tried to cause him yesterday. I proceeded with my usual morning routine. I decided to go to the temple for the 8:15am session and just as I'm getting ready to get in the shower, I take one more look to see if "he's" up yet.
YES!! He was out of his hole making a big hill of dirt and rocks again.
My anger started to rise and I thought about putting on my sweats to go try to KILL him yet again!!
Then....
I stopped.
Having just said my prayers a few moments earlier, I decided he would only win again if I did spend my time trying to kill him and miss my temple session.
SO,...
I ignored him and got ready to go to the temple.
Just as I was walking out the door, dad and I saw the varmit completely out of his hole and dad grabbed the handy broom, snuck around the car and WHACKED him with it over and over...
and I am SO happy to report,
WE GOT HIM!!
That and going to the temple, of course.
(Does this make me a bad person?)
The sad thing is that dad noticed that the holes have been filled back up from the inside, so the battle may not be over yet.
I'll probably look out my bedroom window first thing in the morning tomorrow.
Hope you all had a good day too!
Love you,
Mom

A Poem from my Past
Today at church I heard a speaker recite a poem that I memorized during the summer between my 7th and 8th grade. I learned it while I was at a YMCA camp and it became my creed.MYSELF
by Edgar A. Guest
I have to live with myself and so
I want to be fit for myself to know,
I want to be able as days go by,
To look at myself straight in the eye.
I don't want to stand with the setting sun
and hate myself for the things I've done.
.
I don't want to hide on a closet shelf
A lot of secrets about myself,
And fool myself as I come and go
Into thinking that nobody else will know
What kind of man I really am;
I don't want to dress myself in sham.
.
I want to go with my head erect,
I want to deserve all men's respect
And in this struggle for fame and pelf
I want to be able to like myself.
I don't want to look at myself and know
That I am a bluster and empty show.
.
I cannot hide myself from me;
I can see what others can never see;
I know what others can never know,
I cannot fool myslef, and so
Whatever happens, I want to be
Self-respecting and conscience free.

Last week the Ceilihouse Band played at the University of Redlands during their Multicultural Day. It was a lot of fun!! I remember the days when Karen and Kathy would dance on the grass. ;)
We'll have to work on that.
For SEVERAL weeks we've been fighting this gopher out front!!
Everyday I'm hoping we can kill it!!!
It is my goal to kill the thing BEFORE the wedding!!

Megan, Julie and Karen did an outstanding job of putting on this shower and cousin Stephanie added so much with her culinary skills! The house was decorated beautifully and the food was delicious!
Stephanie is in culinary school and came with homemade scones and gourmet cupcakes...so DELICIOUS!!
